I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalyst practicing Contemporary Self Psychology. I work with high-functioning professional people with discontents in their lives or in their sense of themselves, which are often not visible to the outside world. Sometimes these problems are relationship issues, work issues, or low self esteem. I also specialize in Clergy Wellness. I am President of the Psychoanalytic Society of Upstate New York, and Clinical Assistant Professsor of Psychiatry at The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. I am a past President of the Psychoanalytic Society, and the founder of the Association of the Advancement of Contemporary Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, an affiliate of the International Association for Psychoanalytic Self Psychology.
As a Member of the International Psychoanalytic Association, Dr. Munschauer adheres to a strict code of ethics at both the national and international level. See Code of Ethics.
