My Style
People who work with me describe my personal style as emotionally responsive. My treatment approach is flexible and my goal is to not stick with a "method" as much as to tailor my approach to the need of each person who comes before me and who takes the risk of trusting me with his or her story. I try to be sensitive to individual variabilities-- especially in terms of trying to understand the intricacies of how each person perceives his or her life, self, family and social context. I am also concerned with how a person views and manages his or her health, bodily well-being, and, in particular, might be managing whatever medical diagnosis or condition he or she might have.
My office is set up to be quiet and private and appointments set up in such a way that enough time is left between sessions so that no person crosses another's path in my waiting room. Once you become my patient, I consider it my responsibility to try my best to help and take care of you. This includes providing you with names of physicians and other professionals, should you request them. It goes without saying, that should you feel that my style does not match with yours, I welcome your telling me this and I will give you a referral to another therapist. I will not just drop you nor leave you stranded in distress.
